Goo Goo Dolls Hartford Concert reviews
Richard Marx - Always a great show!
"Goo Goo Dolls performed a great show as always. None of the wear and tear one would expect after years of performing on their voice is still solid and pure - decades of performing! The solo acoustic format is by far my favorite way to see Goo Goo Dolls perform. They truly shine when it's just them on the stage, and I've personally seen them perform a dozen times. They play the piano and guitar, sing (of course) and have a wonderfully funny sense of humor and easy-going interaction with the crowd.
A highlight of the night was when they unplugged the guitar and walked away from the microphone. If you can find a recording of this online somewhere - do it! Their voice is pure honey on that track. They stood to one side of the stage and played and sang Angelia to us. The acoustics carried the sound, but the crowd had to be silent as church mice for it to work - they were and it did.
They played all the hits and old favorites everyone has come to know and love. The crowd also joined in on the two newer songs they threw into the mix as well."
